This week there's been a lot of publicity about spates of burglaries across the country. It seems that as well as the local burglars there are now groups touring around. The high profile burglary of a millionaire's home in Chiselhurst while his family were in was very stressful to see and a further disturbing insight was that in November 2017 there had been a burglary everyday in Chislehurst and there had been 20 more in January 2018. If the police had caught these burglars the first time they entered a house with someone in, or the first time a neighbour saw something suspicious, this latest incident might not have happened. Please keep spreading the StreetSafe Rescue message and keep your street safe.
Thanks for checking in.
We are now in the test phase for the new "Lost Child" module. This module in the app will allow a user to upload a picture and profile for their children or other vulnerable dependants. If your child goes missing, for instance in a theme park or shopping centre, one swipe will send the child's picture to everyone in the area with the StretSafe App alerting them to the fact that the child is missing. The instruction is to stand still with the child if you find them and press the button to indicate you have the child. The app will bring you to your child. When you have your child, you can then cancel the alarm, thanking everyone for their help. This app is designed so that no-one is walking around with a missing child and people will feel justified to question if something looks wrong.
I look forward to sharing the release date shortly.
Today I've been with my friend Andy Lewis, who has been taking photos for the StreetSafe Rescue press release, coming soon. Andy is a wedding photographer - have a look at his website: www.andylewisphotography.com to see some beautiful pictures. Andy's going to be helping us with some video work in a few days, so that we can demonstrate how the StreetSafe Rescue system works.
The long wait is over. We're in the App Store!
Thanks to David and the team at Codevate, for that big final push.
Welcome to everyone joining, both here in Lutterworth, and around the world. We're seeing activity from Newcastle to New Delhi!
We welcome everyone's feedback about StreetSafe Rescue, tell us which parts you like best, and what we could do better?
Excited to be given the opportunity to talk to Cross Counties Radio in our home town of Lutterworth. This interview was the first time I'd been in a studio. I was very nervous, as you might be able to tell, but the team were wonderful. Once I'd worked out how to speak into the microphone it all seemed to go quite well. I'd like to say a big thank you to John Foreman and all the team. Listen out tonight!
Today we've been working on a press release to go out next week. We've been working with our friend Cat, at Cat Copy Creative. She is one of the wonderful people we've met on this journey. Balancing between the reason for starting, the things we've had to do to launch the product, the wonderful things the app does now and the plans for the future, makes a press release more complicated than we expected. We've taken professional guidance in so many aspects of the app, and are really pleased to have Cat on our side for the press release.
Exciting times - we've released an update which will improve the sensitivity of the GPS, and also fixed an issue with the Family and Friends Connect. Did you know that you can automatically send SMS alerts to five contacts when you trigger an alarm? There's no extra charge for this, it's included in your annual subscription. Here's how to set it up:
A big welcome to all of our early-adopters.
If your dashboard shows "0 person nearby", then why not get someone near you to join, then you can set off an alarm and see how it works?
We welcome any feedback that you can give us, so we can make sure the system is working for everyone, the way we want.
Please pop over to the app store and give us a rating.
Thanks for reading,
A big thank you to Sam Jones and the team at Codevate for working above and beyond on Valentine's night. The StreetSafe Rescue app is now in the Google Play Store. Please take a look.
Hi Everyone, we're really excited that Streetsafe Rescue will be in the Google Play Store this afternoon. It's been a rollercoaster ride, and sometimes we thought we wouldn't get here. We want to say a huge "Thank you!" to everyone who helped us along the way. We couldn't have done it without you.
